Ethics and Malpractice Statement
Ethics and Malpractice Statement
The CAAGA Conference is fully committed to maintaining the highest ethical standards in scholarly publishing. Our Ethics and Malpractice Statement is guided by the principles set forth by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). We expect all parties involved in the publication process—editors, authors, reviewers, and publishers—to uphold integrity, transparency, and accountability at all times.
1. Editorial Responsibilities
- Editors evaluate manuscripts based on scholarly merit, originality, clarity, and relevance to the conference scope, regardless of the authors’ race, gender, religion, or institutional affiliation.
- Editors must ensure a fair, transparent, and timely peer-review process and avoid any conflicts of interest.
- Editors are responsible for safeguarding the confidentiality of all submitted materials.
2. Author Responsibilities
- Authors must ensure their work is original, free from plagiarism, and has not been published or submitted elsewhere.
- All listed authors should have made significant contributions to the research and approved the final manuscript.
- Authors must clearly disclose any conflicts of interest, sources of funding, and AI-generated content (if applicable), in accordance with CAAGA's AI usage guidelines.
- If human participants were involved, appropriate ethical clearance must be obtained and documented.
3. Reviewer Responsibilities
- Reviewers are expected to provide objective, constructive, and confidential evaluations of submitted manuscripts.
- They must disclose any potential conflicts of interest and recuse themselves from reviewing manuscripts where such conflicts exist.
- Reviewers should identify ethical issues, data fabrication, or plagiarism and notify the editors promptly.
4. Plagiarism and Academic Misconduct
The CAAGA Conference uses plagiarism detection tools (e.g., Crossref Similarity Check) to ensure originality. Manuscripts found to contain plagiarized content, falsified data, or other academic misconduct will be rejected and appropriate actions will be taken, including notifying institutions or retracting published work.
5. Handling Complaints and Misconduct
Complaints and allegations of misconduct are handled seriously and in accordance with COPE flowcharts. Where necessary, the editorial board will collaborate with authors, reviewers, and institutions to resolve the issues transparently.
6. Retraction and Correction Policy
Articles may be retracted or corrected when significant errors or breaches of ethics are identified post-publication. A retraction notice or correction statement will be clearly linked to the original article to maintain transparency and trust.
